Meghan brings back P.A.R.O.S.H. engagement dress for WellChild Awards

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the WellChild Awards ceremony this evening at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.

Prince Harry is the patron of the UK charity which makes it possible for children and young people with exceptional health needs to be cared for at home instead of hospital, wherever possible.

Meghan attended the annual awards for the first time last year. The evening recognises the courage of children and young people with serious illnesses and complex care needs. Also honoured at the star–studded ceremony are dedicated doctors, nurses, volunteers, brothers and sisters.

A bit wasteful don't you think. The Duchess of Cornwall has reworn her wedding outfit, many other royals have too. Pre-80's the engagement outfit wasn't anything special. We're just so used to seasonal and one-time fashion nowadays.

I love all things green..so I like this dress! Her hair and make up look great. I personally don’t like the color of the shoes. I love love love that bag!!

Still don’t like the half on half off jacket look but I do like that coat.

This is a lovely green dress, and the colour suits the Duchess perfectly. The bag is gorgeous, love it! I am with Jessica though, I don't like a jacket half off, its either on or off. Her hair looked beautiful.

Those who look for Meghan to wear a new outfit every outing need to consider her expense and public response to her spending. She is fine doing what she needs to do for her. Still looks fantastic!

If I lived in UK, I would be much harder on her. Tax dollars on her private residence F Cottage reno, then goes out to the public and insist no photos be taken of her because she's there on a private capacity? What?!

But I don't live in the UK, I live in Canada. Where she used to live. So, I'll just be tough on her for spending almost 20K CDN on a gown? ( To nonoo's wedding?!)

This is a fashion blog. Critique on style, and fashion $$$$$ spent is expected. Please do not be offended. You're not her.

There is much heated discussion about the cost of MM's wardrobe but I do wonder whether she pays for all these gowns etc. My understanding of the protocol (and am open to correction here) is that members of the Royal family are not permitted to accept gifts but can accept loans. Given MM's connections in the fashion world and that the wedding at which she wore the Valentino gown, was a private, not a public function - how are we to know?

I like, and would personally wear, the dress, coat, and earrings. I would even wear the shoes if I could manage stilettos.

However, my only critique is that from the back, one can see that the dress is far too tight. It's good that she is re-wearing outfits, but she still doesn't pay as much attention to fit as she should.

Well, it's her post-pregnancy body so it's not like her body before.

Also, her ITV interview preview.....

So many changes in 1 year for her:

New country
New continent
Leaving old job
New role as a royal
Wedding planning/wedding
Marriage
Pregnancy
Birth
Being a new mom
Change of residence from Canada to London to Windsor

Yes, it's alot for any new mom. And, for Meghan more so...

All under the spotlight.....all these changes are stressful but all to be done within a year....it's a lot. Heartbreaking to see her face in that interview preview with her eyes watering.

Brave of her to speak up. I hope she feels better in the months to come.

With Harry beside her, and giving her strength is comforting.

Her drama/non contact with her Dad. : ( Must be hard.

With Harry by her side, ( and her Mom ) much comfort and strength. Like I said before, hope she feels stronger and better in the future. Tough to see so much pain in her face especially her eyes.

Why would they release this interview at the exact same time Kate and William completed a very successful tour? Whoever is advising them needs to be fired. That being said, Harry looks sad and preoccupied and says he can’t even hear the shutter of a camera...he has become a shell of himself in the last 2-3 years. It has been awful.

She is playing a very very dangerous game with the press and is losing..and it shows. Does anyone remember when pippa had to publicly apologize for flashing a gun around in a car in Italy? There have been multiple reports over the years of pippa not even leaving the bathroom if there were press outside..James has admitted the pressure caused him to seek help for depression..and these are Kate’s siblings. For Meghan to act surprised by any of this...is absurd.

Perhaps they are both better off living privately for a few years...they can still be actively involved in charities that matter to them. Neither of them are handling it well. My son had serious medical issues at birth and I had severe post pardem...and I did not have any of this additional pressure. I can’t even imagine. At some point, do what is best for you and your family.

I'm sorry to hear your son had serious medical issues at birth. Hope he is better now. And sorry to hear you suffered severe post pardem depression. Hope you are recovering well. Can't be an easy thing to go through both issues at the same time: your son not being well as yourself.

p.s. I had no idea about the Pippa thing. Poor Harry having reminders of what his Mom went through. : (

She looks stunning, fresh, and happy. Like several of you, I love the green and the coat, but not a fan of the coat draped on shoulders. Most of her outfits look better in the brand photos because the brand photos show the intended shape and fit. The Duchess is fit but thick waisted, short torsoed, and square-hipped. It was mentioned to go to the KM and QL blog for more inspiration. I agree that they are both beautiful and those blogs are great, no doubt! However, the figures of those two are more feminine, shapely and frankly look just photograph and wear the clothes better. Every outfit that Meghan has worn that I wanted so bad to like and compliment but fell short would have been a knockout on either of those two. I've come to the conclusion that you can't separate the clothes from the body type.
