Meghan refined the somber look with long black gloves, reportedly by Valentino (unconfirmed).
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex joined the British Royal Family and around 2000 mourners, including heads of state, at Westminster Abbey for the State Funeral of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
Meghan paid homage to the late queen by carefully selecting an outfit with a sentimental connection to Her Majesty. She wore a black Stella McCartney cape dress - a style she originally wore in navy for the Queen's 92nd birthday celebration in 2018.
The Duchess chose a black Dior X Stephen Jones Wide Brim Crin Hat - a style she first wore in griege straw for the Queen's Platinum Jubliee earlier this year.
During the period of mourning, Meghan has been wearing a pair of diamond & pearl earrings gifted to her by the late Queen in 2018 on the occasion of their first joint engagement together.
Queen Elizabeth II often wore a similar pair of studs, and in the final photo released of Her Majesty to commemorate her State Funeral, she is seen wearing the signature pearl earrings.
Meghan refined the somber look with long black gloves, reportedly by Valentino (unconfirmed).
On her feet were a pair of Stuart Weitzman ‘Tippi’ Pumps in Black Combo.
In the photo below we see the Duchess accessorizing with her beloved Cartier 'Love' bangle.
It is beyond the scope of this blog to cover the details of the funeral of Her Majesty. If you would like more details on the service, please visit the royal.uk website. The State Funeral Service and the Committal Service are available to watch on The Royal Family YouTube Channel.
Rest in peace, Your Majesty.
