The Duchess of Sussex officially returned to royal duties today following a 4 month maternity leave after the birth of baby Archie.

Meghan launched the much anticipated clothing line in aid of her patronage, Smart Works. You can see the full range of the 'Smart Set' capsule collection here.

WHAT MEGHAN WORE

SHIRT: Misha Nonoo 'The Smart Set' shirt (US$125).

TROUSERS: Jigsaw 'The Smart Set' Black Paris Trousers (£120).

BELT: Polo Ralph Lauren saddle tan nappa leather skinny belt (£85).

SHOES: Manolo Blahnik 'BB' luggage brown suede pointed toe pumps (US$665).

BRACELETS: Meghan wore a stack of gold bangles and cuffs on her right arm.

Most she has worn before but it appears she added a new solid gold bangle (second from left in picture below).

My reader Alison, and Anne Young both suggest the new gold bracelet may be the Pippa Small 'Meena' bangle (£650).

The trousers are too low rise for most women, including Ms Markle, giving a "bus driver" type of square look. Higher waisted trousers give an illusion of a waist, and would be more on trend for this year.

Thank you for saying that about the pants. I was like, how come the pants don't look good at all and was baffled. Yes, you're so right about how it gives her a square look.

I checked the Jigsaw website. I think the pants are not very low rise. Maybe it's because Meghan just had baby 4 months ago, she still carries some weight around her waist and that makes her look more square?

I really like the overall look of it. It looks like a good "work" look. It blends black and brown nicely bc of the white blouse. And the jewelry goes well with the look not too bling.
The shoes are really expensive tho and the pants around the middle are kind of boxy and not that attractive.
But I like the slim leg fit of the pants.
The normal everyday person probably would not be able to afford the shoes tho.

The collection of gold bangles and bracelets is a classy touch and lovely on her pretty wrist. The navy and white with cognac belt and shoes are clean and classic. Am wondering, though, how the cut of the clothing will look on most body types. It is unflattering on the Duchess by making her look thick waisted and thick torsoed, and she’s thin and fit!

For some reason I don't know why this looks like the Pippa Small Meena Bangle. The site pictures are bad but if you compare the texture, colour, slight curve, and bent flattened parts of the bangle it matchs what you see in the the pictures of Meghan online.

I checked out the link on her capsule collection. Bag, jacket, shirt looks good. The dresses from M&S....awful! Why would anyone want to wear that?! eeek!

I like how MM is wearing earrings and bracelet from Diana.

This is a great initiative. The Duchess looks wonderful. I love a crisp white shirt. I would never have put brown and black together but it works well. It is so nice to see the Duchess wearing some jewellery pieces of Princess Diana. The bracelet with the blue stones is gorgeous. So nice they are being used, good on her!!

I personally would not wear something like this (just not my vibe). However, Meg did look glowing in it. I do like the jewelry !

Really like this look and it is something I could easily wear to work. The contrasting neutrals are a nice touch and give a simple outfit a little flare. And her jewellery is fantastic. Sad I can't purchase the belt or the pants in the U.S. And it is actually something I can afford. All the eBay items are over priced too. Life is so unfair.
