I love this monochrome look, and I'm happy she opted for an affordable high-street brand, but the short dress length and those sandals don't make sense in the middle of winter. It was very cold in London today so I'm perplexed by her outfit. A tonal suede boot would have looked fabulous. Meghan never seems to nail an outfit, there's always something amiss, but I do feel inspired to give monochrome dressing a go!

I know lots of people who wear slingback pumps in the fall and winter. Most of the foot is covered and besides she can wear whatever she wants. The length of the dress was not too short and if you recall Duchess Kate wore a peach/coral dress that was above the knee when she was pregnant and it was not on a warm day. Pregnant women are often hot and her dress has a high neckline and long sleeves. She's covered in all the right places.

I like Meghan. Don't get me wrong but when you are driven around in warmed cars and limos I am sure cold for bare legs is not a problem

The outfit is quite good, but for me it’s going to become ridiculous her obsession for bare legs. What’s her problem with stockings?
It’s winter!

Are you serious? All women don't wear stockings in the winter! Most women don't wear stockings at all! There's no rule/law that you have to wear stockings because it is winter, that's ridiculous! She has worn stockings and tights before but does she have to wear them everyday....of course not! Do you wear stockings everyday in the winter? You are focused on the wrong thing. It is simply not important.

Love the colour combination shoes, bag, outfit looks terrific But I have to agree with Casey it is not a pre requisite to wear stockings/hose, the Duchess does not look any less well groomed. Mind you when I was expecting my children in winter I was always body temperature wise on the warmer side and whether it was cold or not, I never felt it and to wear hose/stockings would have been dreadful. I think the Duchess is doing the very best she can.

Agreed. She's also pregnant. Some women when they are pregnant they can't tolerate tight clothes.

Actually I did notice that also! Only because she has a great pigment color she could definitely pull it off ...I don’t like wearing stockings either but these months I definitely have to...I think she looks stunning! I love this monochromatic luck such an elegant woman

I really like this monochrome look. I bought the H&M dress earlier this morning! Duchess Meghan looks really chic and cute. I love that Stella McCartney bag! Overall good look to me and I can't wait to see what she wears tonight at Cirque!

I love your simple, straight to the point posts, it's such a help being able to see the IDs in a single glance. I think this outfit looks lovely on Meghan, the cream tones look well on her and give lightness on a winter's day. I'm wondering though if there's something I don't understand about being American -- being a dyed in the wool old Brit here -- as this seems a tad glamorous for visiting an animal shelter. I wonder if Meghan perhaps tries a bit too hard in the face of all the negativity being aimed at her, and maybe in awe of royalty and all that. She seems to tend towards being overdressed.

The single breasted Armani is perhaps more casual than some of her heavier overcoats but it's not everyone who'd risk pale cream around small four-legged friends. The dress is a brilliant find, it looks very handy for pregnancy, and wonderful to have sourced it from a low-key label. I am utterly smitten by that divine McCartney tote.

I thought the same thing. I was hoping for jeans and walking shoes so she could cuddle the animals and perhaps take one for a walk! What a great photo campaign for them that would have been! But I do love the outfit!

I agree that this probably wouldn’t be my first choice for a dog shelter in winter..however, she looks gorgeous. Her hair, make up...everything. Looking forward to what she wears tonight.

I am also glad to see her wearing something at a much more accessible price point.

Not very relaxed for an animal shelter, is it? Should have gone more casual. She looks like a Kardashian and not a royal duchess today.

I rarely criticize anything worn by any of the Royal family as fashion selections are personal, however, I found this dress to be simply too tight and pulling in all the wrong directions. I admit to not being a fan of stretch materials after a certain point in a pregnancy. I don't care to see belly buttons turned inside out. I have certainly seen her wear better fitting clothing. Kate did wear short dresses with her pregnancies but always added hose to even out the look. This was terrible.6

I love a monochrome look, and I'm especially loving beige/nude tones at the moment. Unfortunately for me, the pieces that I like the most are all expensive - the coat, the bag and the shoes.
The dress is very cheap, but I don't really like it for myself.

Perhaps a little over dressed for an animal shelter, but she looks pretty.

Yes, women are HOT when they are pregnant. It doesn't matter what the weather is outside. As for the inexpensive dress, she may be like many pregnant women who don't want to "blow the wad" on every outfit -- especially when it may never be worn again. I sure am glad I wasn't being criticized for every outfit I wore in my last trimester! Being royal, she isn't supposed to duplicate a look. Being pregnant, an outfit that looks good today may not look good tomorrow. Literally. Cut her some slack already!
