Following this morning's event at the UN General Assembly Hall to mark Nelson Mandela Day in New York City, the Duchess of Sussex stepped out with friend and social political activist Gloria Steinem for lunch at the Crosby Hotel in SoHo.

SHORTS: Possibly the Christian Dior SS22 Bermuda Shorts in Navy. Suggested by @Heaven_LeeM (Twitter).

I would've liked this more if she'd worn flats instead of heels with those shorts. I'm veryyyy picky about shorts though, and I don't like that length. She looks nice but I would've paired a different set of pants or shorts with this ensemble.

I would never wear this but it looks great on her. Many people dislike that clutch but I actually love it and it goes well with the shoes and belt.

The Duchess looks lovely, but I am not a fan of these shorts, they are not very flattering. The high heel shoes IMO seem out of place, a pair of loafers or flats may have looked better. Love the white shirt.

Proportions of this outfit look all wrong to me. I am a fan of shorts and heels but the length of these shorts are not particularly flattering with the heels, flats would have looked more in proportion. The brown belt cuts her off in the middle. Bag and shirt are lovely.

I actually love everything about this. I wouldn't have worn heels with it but I think they're still appropriate.
