The Duke and Duchess of Sussex joined Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern this afternoon at Pillars, a charity operating across New Zealand that supports children who have a parent in prison.

As a wedding present to the royal couple, the Government of New Zealand gifted $5000 dollars to Pillars, and Meghan and Harry had the opportunity to meet some of the children who have directly benefited from this funding.

Ok, I've really, really had enough with the trench coats. What is it with her??

Maybe it’s colder than she expected down here in New Zealand. It only reached 14 degrees Celsius (57F) today in Auckland when they were on the walkabout. With the windchill factor it would have been colder. I’m glad she had a coat she could put on to keep herself warm.

Am also over the trench coat, it’s great for casual events but not for most of her appearances, she looks messy

Since when is a trench coat (Burberry at that) considered casual?

Agreed. There are so many other types of coats and jackets that would be more appropriate for these events.

I agree..it looks messy. There is no excuse for messiness on a tour of this magnitude. I feel the same way I did with harry’s wrinkled ties and rumpled pants...they literally have people with them to press these clothes. They have planned this tour to the minute detail including changing weather forecasts, etc and they know they will be photographed.

We do a lot of customer facing events. I would have a very firm talk with one of my employees for showing up messy in front of customers. And showing up in a high slit sundress would be a fireable offense. That’s just how it works in the real world so I do think looking at some of these clothes from a business perspective...it is perplexing why the RF doesn’t have a higher standard for dress at some of these events.

A trench coat and a beautiful dress is messy? When did Burberry trench coats become too casual and messy? What do you do to see that as lazy for a casual, work day engagement? Which is what walk abouts are. They’re suppose to straddle the line of casual, but reserved.
The royal family don’t have those requirements probably because they’re juggling a million more things than you when it comes to their image and how they interact.
