The Duchess of Sussex spent her first royal birthday at a society wedding. Meghan who turned 37 today attended the wedding of Charlie van Straubenzee and Daisy Jenks, close friends of Prince Harry.

Meghan looks lovely, but the dress is too casual for a summer society wedding. I would wear it to work. Cute clutch!

I think she looks lovely, but I'm not sold on wearing this to a Wedding, especially a society Wedding.

This is definitely something I would wear... when out to brunch, or to an occasion at a friends place (minus the headwear).

I personally wouldn't wear it to a Wedding due to the colour palette.

I have to give her credit for wearing something reasonably priced and not bespoke! I don’t love this look...I think it actually makes her look heavier than she is, agree with Jennifer...not something I would personally pick for a society wedding. The leather belt was unnecessary and I think showing her lacy bra under is a little too risqué for the occasion. Someone mentioned before that she doesn’t have the same rules as Kate bc Harry is so far down the line..true...but Beatrice, Zara, etc would never dress out of turn and they are much farther down the line. You can modernize the institution while still respecting it.

However, she looks very happy and the picture of her and Harry...the outfit goes well with what he is wearing.

The showing of her undergarment was caused by the button popping open, something that's happened to most of us at one time or another. If you look at all the other photos, that button is closed.

This has honestly never happened to me. I just think she should be more aware that she is photographed all the time.

I feel a more similar situation is when Kate’s skirt flew up on the tarmac and then she started putting weights in the hem. Yes, our skirts fly up sometimes but that doesn’t make it appropriate for the royal family and the amount they know they are photographed.

Filla...hahahaha YES!!! I think...maybe...*maybe* she was wearing a thong????!!! I actually really liked what I saw of Meghan’s camisole/bra and almost wish we could figure out what it was. It seemed to have a raw edge...and it was nice that she had something fancy underneath instead of some clunky old bra.

Happy birthday Meghan!

She had learned from the Oscar De La Renta dress fiasco, but I believe she still has to learn. That dress suits her figure perfectly though I find it a bit casual for a wedding.

It's just me or she only wears natural colors such as different shades of pink, beige, blue or green. She barely wears colors these days, except for that yellow dress. Although she looks amazing in it. I hope we will see her wearing bolder colors in the future.

I saw her as I was there yesterday! Not invited to the wedding sadly but I live nearby so went to spectate. The ladies mostly wore long floaty dresses, it was amazing watching them all arrive so beautifully attired. Meghan is very respectful in many ways and no doubt she wore an understated dress so as not to draw too much attention. Bless her efforts though, everyone was there to see her! The bride looked beautiful too, her name is Daisy and her gorgeous dress was adorned with cut out daisies as was her veil. It was an incredible experience to there. The crowd sang Happy Birthday to Meghan which made her smile and turn and wave to us.

Shelley, thank you so much for sharing your experience of being there. This gives quite a different take on the occasion. One tabloid UK newspaper in particular is obsessed with what Meghan's clothes cost, and is relentlessly negative. How lovely to be reassured that the 'public' is more generous and wishes her well. So glad the crowd sang Happy Birthday.
