The print of the dress is lovely but the fit looks horrible on Meghan and that $5K+ price tag of the dress is criminal. What's with Meghan wearing all these expensive clothes!?

For damage control can we agree that the cost for this dress is nearer to $4K+ and not the amount mentioned by you? Further we should not mix up two different accounts. This dress here is being paid for privately since it is a private event. So far she has worn three dresses for public events. Garden party, Trooping the colour and accompanying the Queen. Certain tabloids have so far not succeeded in influencing the public to hate Meghan. They will now try to do it over her expenditures and they exaggerate, like they already did with her Diamonds. They added those jewellery which she had bought before the wedding and they added the Tiara of the wedding, which was loaned to her.

I have my reservations about Meghan and I do want her succeed in her new role but it's like all of a sudden she's too proud to wear high street since becoming a Duchess. Even the Goat Fashion dress was custom made for her. It really does provide ammunition for the haters and it does make one wonder what her motives are. Kate seemed approachable because she wore high street but it's like Meghan is saying I'm better than the rest of you. The clothes one wears does speak volumes ...

You got all that just from a few dresses and a borrowed tiara? That she thinks she’s better than everyone and her motives are questionable? For never speaking to the woman, that’s quite the leap. Awfully unfair. She has her own money and can afford to purchase whatever she’d like to wear. Leave her alone-she’s handled her new role with dignity and grace.

Allie, and you got all that from a handful of engagements? She wiggled her ass at the Buckingham Palace garden party, I didn't think the sleeveless outfit she wore to Trooping was appropriate, but she was flawless on her day with Her Majesty. You don't know her either so you can't vouch for her motives either. All I'm saying is I have reservations about Meghan but I want to succeed in her new role. It's just she's hit and miss at the moment.

Meghan has her own money? I think she does. Not just from the TV-Serie but also from her blog (advertising?). Kate never had own money. I don't see Meghan as somebody who now thinks she is better than the rest.

Please don’t let it escape you that Meghan is Royalty now and is simply no longer a commoner, and ROYALTY simply does not wear the average, run of the mill clothing store type clothes. I can almost guarantee that NONE of the Royals wear clothes from Target, Walmart (US stores) or the like. Like it or not, they ARE of a higher class. PERIOD.

What Meghan and Catherine wears contributes greatly to the fashion industry of Great Britain. Most people will by the knock offs of these very expensive dresses. It’s called the “Meghan Effect” or Catherine Effect”

Every single thing she wears I always gulp at how unnecessarily expensive it is. You’re right it’s criminal.

My thoughts exactly!! This amount of money for an afternoon country wedding? All of her clothing thus far have been super expensive. And the dress swallows her whole.

Hmm, the dress is obviously meant to look a bit to big. It looks to big on the model as well. Maybe you could include the picture with the models, just to silence the "it's to big" comments. The dress has something of delft ware, at least it reminds me of the tiles. I like Meghan very much and I wish she would stop giving ammunition to the haters. I know, they will always find something worthy of critic. And if they don't they make something up.

Just because the dress is intended to be worn big still doesn't mean it looks good.

It might be better sleeveless, to reduce the amount of fabric.

Yes this is a poor fit of a dress for the Duchess of Sussex. Yes it costs an exorbitant amount of money for looking like she wrapped herself in a bed sheet. And yes clothing speaks volumes via non-verbal communication that's why we have something called sartorial diplomacy. But the truth is I love to see what she will wear next some of it I like some of it I don't. And I don't have to worship her to like the clothes and I don't hate her if I don't like the clothes.

Several months ago Daily Mail talked about premarital wealth of both Kate andMeghan. Kate very much had her own money before marriage! I guarantee that Markle's clothing has been paid for by Charles since November! What Meghan has is safely in the bank drawing interest or invested. Time will tell the story.

I try to be positive and constructive with everything I comment on. No one royalty or not should be overly criticised for their choices. So I will say the shoes are nice. Wow this is horrible. Expensive and horrible. I can see the value spending money on pieces you will wear again and form part of your working wardrobe. This dress should never see the light of day again. Whatever is on her head should be burnt immediately.

I think this look is perfect for a wedding and a refreshing change from her normal modern look! I’m so happy to see her in a floral piece!

I agree that this dress isn't for Meghan. The fit and design just doesn't work for her. Maybe it would be better if it was shorter and not as "flow-y". Same with the fascinator. Give her a break, though, and she'll get back on track, true to her style.

The best part of this is the floral chiffon. She's lost all semblance of a waist in this dress and it looks awful on her. Any of the less expensive options shown here would have been more flattering. I've seen fascinators that cost even less (!) that looked much better. It doesnt even really coordinate with her dress. It looks like someone ran out and bought a fascinator because the hat she was planning to wear was lost. Honestly, it's insulting to look so bad at a wedding. It's like telling the bride she's so unattractive that one must purposefully look shlumpy as to not outshine her.

I was also struck with how much better all Elizabeth's alternatives looked than the designer effort! I think fashion has got in the way of functional design on this dress.

Meghan and Harry are in love, and that's enough for me. As to this dress, she is not wearing it, it is wearing her. Too much dress on too small a frame. That's the beginning and end to it. Even Princess Kate doesn't fire on all cylinders every time.
